Public Intellectuals Program

Comprised of 20 young American China scholars, the Public Intellectuals Program expands and deepens the scholars' knowledge of aspects of China beyond their own specialties and encourages their active engagement as public intellectuals both within and beyond their professional and geographic communities.

U.S.-China Labor Law Cooperation Project

National Committee and two partners work with the Ministry of Labor and Social Security on a multi-year effort to assist the Chinese government in its efforts to strengthen protection of workers’ rights and to comply with internationally recognized labor standards.

Community Planning for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Treatment

Project takes a close look at the community planning models used by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Strengthening Volunteer Management in Chinese NGOs

Administered in 2005-2006, the Strengthening Volunteer Management in Chinese NGOs project provided Chinese NGO professionals the opportunity to receive practical training in volunteer management from American NGO experts.

HIV/AIDS and the Chinese Media

Two-way exchange seeks to help raise the level of discourse in Chinese news media about HIV/AIDS and related issues, call attention to society’s attitudes towards marginalized groups, encourage community involvement in finding solutions, and stimulate policy debates on a national response.

Conflict Management Conference

Participants bond over a nine-day training program in San Diego focusing on conflict management and resolution. Formal training is balanced with informal group bonding activities that established sense of camaraderie, trust, and friendship among all three groups.
