Joseph Weed joined the National Committee as Director of Communications in March 2008. He is responsible for the National Committee’s external communications and public relations, including media relations; press management for public programs and large events; writing, editing and graphic design of publications and special projects; and new media initiatives, including online video, podcast, document and photo collections.
Previously, Mr. Weed worked in nonprofit communications directing public relations for a regional provider of housing and services for the homeless in Connecticut during a period of organizational expansion and the inauguration of an innovative $10 million national-model housing facility for chronic homeless, and for an educational nonprofit during the development and launch of a series of programs in the United States and Europe. His prior experience included operating a business consultancy focused on developing markets in Eastern Europe and writing for newspapers and a public relations trade publication.
