The founder and CEO of Hong Kong think tank Civil Exchange addressed the economy, civil society, the Hong Kong government, and perceptions of Hong Kong today.

The National Committee welcomed Christine Loh, the founder and CEO of Hong Kong think tank Civil Exchange, on February 8, 2010 for a roundtable discussion. In her opening remarks, Ms. Loh addressed five areas: the economy, civil society, Hong Kong government, Hong Kong-China relations, and perceptions of Hong Kong today. She then took questions on a wide array of issues.

A former member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council (1992-1997 and 1998-2000), Ms. Loh now sits on a variety of boards, while also writing books on Hong Kong and running Civil Exchange. Her most recent books include Underground Front: The Chinese Communist Party in Hong Kong (2010); Climate Change Negotiations: Can Asia Change the Game? (2008); From Nowhere to Nowhere: A Review of Constitutional Reform 1997-2007 (2007); and Reflection of Leadership - Tung Chee Hwa and Donald Tsang (2007).
