Xinyi Willow Wei is a communications assistant at the National Committee, where she is in charge of creating content for the organization’s Chinese social media audience, as well as conducting interviews with NCUSCR directors.

Ms. Wei was born and raised in Guangzhou, China, and lived in the United States for two years with her family during childhood. Her interest in U.S.-China relations started to grow when she returned to China and reflected on her experience in the United States.

Ms. Wei graduated from Columbia University in 2019 with an M.A. degree in political science, where her focus of study was international political economy. Prior to graduate school, she attended Jinan University, where she received a B.A. in international journalism and was an active member of the university’s English debate team. During her junior year, she was offered a study abroad scholarship by the local education bureau to study at Harvard University for two semesters. At Harvard, she studied international relations and economics.

In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, watching movies, and exploring New York City.
