The National Committee welcomed Christine Loh, the founder and CEO of Hong Kong think tank Civil Exchange, on February 8, 2010 for a roundtable discussion. In her opening remarks, Ms. Loh addressed five areas: the economy, civil society, Hong Kong government, Hong Kong-China relations, and perceptions of Hong Kong today. She then took questions on a wide array of issues.

A former member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council (1992-1997 and 1998-2000), Ms. Loh now sits on a variety of boards, while also writing books on Hong Kong and running Civil Exchange. Her most recent books include Underground Front: The Chinese Communist Party in Hong Kong (2010); Climate Change Negotiations: Can Asia Change the Game? (2008); From Nowhere to Nowhere: A Review of Constitutional Reform 1997-2007 (2007); and Reflection of Leadership - Tung Chee Hwa and Donald Tsang (2007).
