VIRTUAL EVENTS

Econ Track II Dialogue

The U.S.-China Track II Economic Dialogue virtually convened leading economists, economic thinkers, and business leaders from both countries on August 11 and 13 to explore key issues and developments in the economic and trade relationship. The American delegation was led by Carla A. Hills and Maurice R. Greenberg, and the Chinese delegation was led by Qin Xiao. The dialogue focused on topics including the current economic setting in both countries, recent trends in anti-trust policy, and possible ways to limit the deterioration of U.S.-China relations. The two delegations have collaborated on a discussion notes document to be shared with policymakers on both sides.

Congressional Briefing

As Covid travel restrictions have rendered in-person delegations impossible, the National Committee organized a virtual China delegation for senior Congressional staffers drawn from Members’ and Committee offices. Over the course of a month, these staffers explored issues relating to challenges in U.S.-China digital economic relations, including China’s intentions vis-à-vis its digital RMB rollout.
