For more than half a century, the National Committee has been on the front lines of the dynamic Sino-American relationship, from the historic U.S. tour of the Chinese ping pong team to President Xi Jinping's 2015 visit to Seattle. Throughout our history, we have fostered constructive relations for the benefit of both countries and the global community. As the relationship has evolved and grown in complexity over time, the National Committee has responded to immediate crises and systemic shifts by providing a platform for dialogue and by creating relevant, high-impact programs.

As we look ahead to 2019 and beyond, we are confronted with a new era of bilateral and global uncertainty, underscoring the urgency of our mission and the importance of stable and productive relations between the world’s two greatest economic and military powers. We are both obligated and uniquely positioned to play a leading role in navigating the U.S.-China relationship through this era of uncertainty. Thanks to our generous donors as well as the tireless efforts of our board and staff, we are able to invest in the future of the U.S.-China relationship by creating innovative new programs that tackle the complex political, social, and technological challenges of our time.

Our Now More Than Ever 50th Anniversary Campaign raised more than $15 million to bolster our flagship programs and establish brand new ones including Track II dialogues on healthcare and the digital economy, as well as next generation programs like our Schwarzman Scholars Partnership. I would like to thank you for your commitment to the National Committee and the work we do to promote constructive engagement between our two countries — needed now more than ever. We take pride in the increased understanding that our Track II dialogues, delegation trips, member programs, public events, and other activities foster. None of it would be possible without the support and encouragement of our members and friends.
