Continuing a tradition of welcoming senior Chinese leaders to the United States dating back to Deng Xiaoping’s historic 1979 visit, the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations (NCUSCR) and its long-time partner, the US-China Business Council (USCBC), were pleased to organize a private meeting with China’s State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in New York on Monday, September 24, 2018. Evan G. Greenberg, chair of the USCBC and vice chair of the National Committee, represented both organizations in welcoming State Councilor Wang; he was joined by NCUSCR corporate members Thomas E. Donilon, chair of BlackRock Investment Institute; Stephen A. Schwarzman, chair, CEO, and co-founder of Blackstone; Ajay Banga, president and CEO of Mastercard; and NCUSCR Vice Chair William R. Rhodes; along with Committee President Stephen A. Orlins. The American side, which also included USCBC members and its president Craig Allen, presented their concerns about the current state of the relationship and suggestions for improving it. © Michael Seto Photography
