NEW YORK, NY, May 25, 2016  Evan G. Greenberg, chairman and chief executive officer of Chubb, has been named vice chair of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, a New York-based nonprofit dedicated to building productive Sino-American Relations.

Mr. Greenberg is assuming his role as the National Committee celebrates 50 years at the forefront of the U.S.-China relationship, from organizing the 1973 “Ping Pong Diplomacy” visit by China’s table tennis team, to co-hosting a welcoming event for President Xi Jinping in Seattle last year.

Mr. Greenberg, who has been active with the National Committee since 2009, will help guide the Committee’s many initiatives, including U.S. congressional delegations to China, briefings for senior U.S. military officers, exchange trips for nationally recognized American student leaders, public programs and online lectures, and high-level dialogues on economic relations, security, energy, and the rule of law with leading experts and policy leaders.

Prior to becoming chairman and CEO of Chubb Limited/Chubb Group, Mr. Greenberg was chairman and CEO of ACE Limited and ACE Group, until ACE’s 2016 acquisition of Chubb. During his more than 40 years in the insurance industry, Mr. Greenberg also spent 25 years at American International Group (AIG), including as CEO of AIG Far East, based in Japan. He serves on the boards of a number of organizations, including the Coca-Cola Company, the Council of the Americas and the US-China Business Council, and is an overseer of the International Rescue Committee.
