Senior Manager, Digital Content

Lauren Kyger joined the National Committee in January 2020. She manages the Committee’s digital media presence on its website, U.S. social media accounts, e-newsletters, and other online platforms.

Previously, Ms. Kyger was associate editor for TradeVistas, an online educational trade magazine sponsored by the Hinrich Foundation. In this role, she wrote, edited, and published articles and graphics on global trade issues. She also managed the project’s web and social content. Prior to joining TradeVistas, she was a research associate at the Hinrich Foundation focused on international trade policy research.

Ms. Kyger received her Master’s degree in global business journalism from Tsinghua University in Beijing in 2016. Her Master’s thesis on international media coverage of China’s growing outbound foreign direct investment was awarded the best thesis in her program. She was named an honorary graduate of Tsinghua University for her academic achievements.

Ms. Kyger graduated summa cum laude from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University in 2013, where she studied journalism and Mandarin Chinese. She has a background in investigative journalism, winning a George Polk Award for Business Reporting while interning with the Center for Public Integrity in Washington, DC in 2013.

Her interest in China first began thanks to a Chinese language 101 class at her high school in Holliston, Massachusetts. In her free time, Lauren enjoys eating soup dumplings, traveling, and going to the movies.
