Young Leaders Forum
Thirty-six fellows attended the 2013 Young Leaders Forum in Austin, Texas, including eight new Chinese and nine new American fellows. The diverse participants at this year’s forum included entrepreneurs, academics, a composer, a business school dean, two CEOs, an architect, an astronaut, a food and wine critic, a U.S. Air Force colonel and an artist.

Young Leaders Forum
The National Committee and the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) held the annual Young Leaders Forum in Dujiangyan, on the outskirts of Chengdu in Sichuan Province. The Forum brought together three dozen of the ‘best and brightest’ American and Chinese men and women under the age of forty for several days of substantive presentations and meaningful discussion interspersed with site visits and group activities.

China Briefings for Heads of Government Affairs Offices
In February 2018, the National Committee hosted its inaugural seminar in this series in Washington, D.C., bringing together top China specialists to share their knowledge and views on China and Sino-American relations. The program was highly interactive, and participants were encouraged to ask hard questions and discuss their own experiences.

Congressional Members Delegations to China
In January 2006, for first time in many years, the National Committee escorted the two co-chairs of the newly formed bipartisan congressional U.S.-China Working Group (USCWG), Rick Larsen (D-WA) and Mark Kirk (R-IL), and one of its members, Tom Feeney (R-FL) to China. National Committee President Stephen Orlins accompanied the delegation, which also included the two co-staff directors of the USCWG.

Congressional Members Delegations to China
In 2007, the National Committee cooperated with the bipartisan congressional U.S.- China Working Group (USCWG), the National People’s Congress, and the Chinese Embassy in Washington, D.C., on visits to China for USCWG congressional representatives and their staff. USCWG is a bipartisan initiative at the forefront of congressional dealings with issues of Sino-American relations, and focuses on educating Congress about China.

Congressional Members Delegations to China
Five members of the bipartisan congressional U.S.-China Working Group (USCWG) traveled to China in April 2011 for the fourth such trip under National Committee auspices. The delegation, led by USCWG Co-chairmen Charles Boustany, Jr. (R-LA) and Rick Larsen (D-WA), visited Beijing, Qingdao, Chengdu, and Shanghai, with a focus on assessing and advancing the U.S.-China military-to-military relationship.
