Chinese President Hu Jintao expressed confidence in the current U.S.-China relationship and optimism for future cooperation at a luncheon in Washington, DC, co-hosted by the National Committee and the US-China Business Council. The luncheon was held on January 20, 2011 at Marriott Wardman Park hotel, in cooperation with nine other organizations.
Public Event
At the invitation of Vice President Joseph Biden, Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping visited Washington, D.C. in mid-February. On Wednesday, February 15, he gave a major policy address on Sino-American relations at a luncheon co-hosted by the National Committee and the US-China Business Council, along with several cooperating organizations, and attended by approximately 600 business leaders, policymakers, heads of cultural and civic organizations, current and former American government officials, and Chinese officials.
Public Event
On April 20, 2006, the National Committee co-hosted a dinner in Washington, DC in honor of Hu Jintao, president of the People’s Republic of China. This provided the occasion for President Hu’s only public address in Washington, DC.
