We are delighted that Ms. Undrakh Chunchuluun, fall 2016 Professional Fellows Program alumna from Mongolia, was selected by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) as an Alumni Impact Award (AIA) winner for her work with young men and boys on intimate partner violence prevention. The AIA “recognizes exceptional contributions made by Professional Fellows Program alumni to their communities.” Undrakh credits her placement at the Children’s Aid Society in New York City for inspiring her to expand her work beyond victims of domestic violence to include those who might become perpetrators. As one of three foreign winners selected from among the thousands of alumni who participated in the program between 2010 and 2016, Undrakh returned to the United States for the spring 2018 Professional Fellows Congress.
She joined the spring 2018 cohort from China, Hong Kong, Mongolia, and Taiwan who had spent the four weeks of May at host organizations across the United States working in the fields of environmental sustainability, philanthropy, legal aid, and community building among marginalized populations. Upon returning home one fellow wrote, “Again and again, thank you for providing us this amazing experience, learning more, understanding more, and thinking more.” The program is funded by ECA.
