Director, Development
Emily Tang is Director of Development at the National Committee, where she brings over 15 years of experience in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and non-profit development. Prior to her current position, she was a communications director at Charter Communications, a Fortune 100 company known through its Spectrum brand, where she supported the company’s diversity and inclusion initiatives. In years past, Emily worked with the National Committee on the Program team, leading public education programs such as CHINA Town Hall and a 50th Anniversary speaker series featuring former U.S. cabinet officials, as well as people-to-people dialogues and exchanges including the Energy Track II Dialogue, Student Leaders Exchange, and more. During graduate school, she interned in the China office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
Emily holds a B.A. in Chinese language and creative writing from Hamilton College and an M.A. in China Studies from the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University. She lives in Stamford, CT with her two living children and husband. Emily is a passionate believer in contributing one’s skills to help others. She previously served as a board director at Inspirica, a non-profit organization that provides comprehensive services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness. In memory of her son Nathaniel, she currently serves on the Family Advisory Council for the neonatal intensive care unit at Yale Children’s Hospital in New Haven.
