Program Officer
Xiaowen Han joined the National Committee in June 2023 as a Program Officer. She focuses on the National Committee’s Next Generation Programs, such as the Young Leaders Forum, and the Committee’s flagship public education program, CHINA Town Hall.
In 2022, Xiaowen was a key member of Labor Solutions, a social enterprise serving over 1.5 million workers globally. Her work leveraged technology to drive sustainable change in the supply chain through worker engagement and worker training. Prior to this, Xiaowen spent over 3 years of her career at the United Nations Headquarters, where she continued raising awareness and educating the public about peace and security, development, human rights, and international matters. She was also involved in multiple youth engagement initiatives by the Office of the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth’s including Young Leaders for SDGs, Youth Advisory Group on Climate Change, and more. Before her time at the UN, Xiaowen had extensive experience working in different educational organizations, such as The Beijing Center for Chinese Studies, NYU, TAL, and the New York Public Library where she was responsible for educational programs for diverse groups of learners.
Xiaowen is a Schwarzman Scholar with the MMS in Global Affairs at Tsinghua University. She also holds a MA in International Educational Development at Columbia University. She graduated from the University of International Business and Economics with a BA in International Studies
