Senior Program Officer
Xiaowen Han joined the National Committee in 2023. She leads the Committee’s flagship public education program, CHINA Town Hall, and runs U.S.-China Strategic Security Track-II Dialogue, INDOPACOM Briefings, and U.S.-China People’s Dialogue, among other ad hoc and public programs.
In 2022, Xiaowen was a key member of Labor Solutions, a social enterprise headquartered in Singapore, serving over 1.5 million workers globally. Her work leveraged technology to drive sustainable change in the supply chain. Prior to this, Xiaowen spent over 3 years of her career at the United Nations Headquarters, where she continued raising awareness and educating the public about peace and security, development, human rights, and international matters. She also provided critical support in multiple youth engagement initiatives by the Office of the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth including Young Leaders for SDGs, Youth Advisory Group on Climate Change, and more. Before her time at the UN, Xiaowen had extensive experience working in different educational organizations, such as The Beijing Center for Chinese Studies, NYU, TAL, and the New York Public Library where she was responsible for educational programs for diverse groups of learners.
Xiaowen is a Schwarzman Scholar with an MMS in Global Affairs from Tsinghua University. She also holds an MA in International Educational Development from Columbia University and a BA in International Studies from the University of International Business and Economics.
