One of the first U.S.-based companies to invest in China after the country’s “reform and opening up,” PepsiCo has grown to become one of the most successful food and beverage businesses in China. For over 30 years, it has proudly contributed to the country’s economic development through a diverse range of products, such as Pepsi, Lay’s and Tropicana, that meet local tastes. PepsiCo is being honored for its commitment to innovation, high-quality products, stringent safety standards, local sourcing, sustainable agricultural practices and environmentally sound operations in China.
Renowned jazz musician, composer and educator Wycliffe Gordon, an alum of the National Committee’s Young Leaders Forum, entertained guests with several special compositions.
The Gala provides a significant source of support for the National Committee, a non-partisan organization that seeks to promote better understanding between China and the United States by creating opportunities for informed discussions regarding issues of vital importance. This year, more than 450 people, including business leaders, public officials and senior Chinese diplomats, gathered to honor PepsiCo and 3M and also look back on the year’s significant milestones in Sino-American relations.
