The National Committee on U.S.-China Relations is pleased to invite you to join us on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, for our annual black-tie Gala Dinner. The Gala will take place at The Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York, with a reception beginning at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m.
This year’s Gala’s esteemed honoree, William E. Ford, chairman and chief executive officer of General Atlantic, has made enormous contributions to constructive Sino-American relations. Mr. Ford has been a board member of the National Committee for almost a decade and strongly supports its mission.
The program will feature remarks from NCUSCR Chair and former U.S. Trade Representative Charlene Barshefsky, and NCUSCR President Stephen A. Orlins.
General Atlantic pioneered the concept of growth equity. Over its 40+ year history, it has maintained a focus on investing in and building leading growth companies. As a globally-integrated team operating under a single investment platform across 16 locations, it collaborates to identify growth opportunities across economic conditions and geographies. General Atlantic seeks to identify investment themes that are driven by innovation and entrepreneurship and supported by long-term secular growth. Its portfolio is highly diversified by sector and region, with more than half of its investments outside of the United States and more than one-third in emerging markets.
Bill Ford has three decades of experience investing in and helping build leading growth companies, including IHS Markit, e*Trade, Priceline, and First Republic Bank. Bill joined General Atlantic in 1991 and became CEO in 2007. He serves as Chairman of the firm’s Management Committee and is a member of the Executive and Investment Committees. Under Bill’s leadership, General Atlantic has expanded its global presence, increased its capital base, and deepened its capabilities to identify and partner with high-potential growth companies across multiple business sectors and geographies.
