China's rapid development and Sino-American relations have a direct impact on the lives of nearly everyone in the United States. CHINA Town Hall is a national conversation about China that provides Americans across the United States and beyond the opportunity to discuss issues in the relationship with leading experts.

The twelfth annual CHINA Town Hall will take place on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 and feature Condoleezza Rice, former secretary of state and national security advisor, as the national webcast speaker. The webcast will take place from 6:00 to 6:45 pm EDT, and will be preceded or followed by presentations from local speakers at each of the venues.

2018 CHINA Town Hall: Condoleezza Rice

The National Committee is currently seeking partners to host local CHINA Town Hall programs on Tuesday, October 9. CHINA Town Hall has two components: (1) an interactive webcast featuring the national webcast speaker, interviewed by National Committee President Stephen Orlins; and (2) an on-site China specialist presenting on a China-related topic of your choosing. The webcast will take place from 6:00 to 6:45 pm EDT, and will be preceded or followed (depending on the time zone) by the local speaker's presentation.

National Webcast Speaker:

Condoleezza Rice is currently the Denning Professor in Global Business and the Economy at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Thomas and Barbara Stephenson Senior Fellow on Public Policy at the Hoover Institution, and professor of Political Science at Stanford University. She is also a founding partner of RiceHadleyGates, LLC. From January 2005 to 2009, Secretary Rice served as the 66th Secretary of State of the United States, the second woman and first African American woman to hold the post. She also served as President George W. Bush’s Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs (National Security Advisor) from January 2001 to 2005, the first woman to hold the position. Read Secretary Rice's full bio.
